About our Saddles

Every effort has been made to present our products in a colourful, eye-appealing manner, and to make ordering as easy as possible.

Behind this catalogue comes 30 years of saddlery construction 'know how' and experience. These years have given me the 'knowledge' of what works, what will last, and what will be comfortable for both you the customer and your horse.

As a result, most of our saddles are built on a Ralide or Pro Tuff (Ralide type) trees. These are an injected moulded polyethylene hi-tensile plastic material that will not warp, rot or change shape in hot or cold weather conditions.

Polyethylene trees help the saddle retain both light weight and strength. So much so that they come with a 5 year replacement guarantee on responsible use. Responsible use in that the manner of the saddle must be applicable to it's proper use, that is, a saddle without a roping horn should not be used for the purpose of roping

Our new tree is from  the superior saddle tree company in the USA  and is a wooden tree covered with a product called Ultrahide (10yr guarantee) the 2 types of trees we have are  endurance and hybred (stock on top ,Western underneath) Aussie stock trees.

Tree widths are semi Quarter horse, standard Q/horse & Full Q/horse.also an arabian tree.

In the construction of our saddles we use both New Zealand and Argentinean leather. We also use a pure wool knitted back under our saddle skirts. This allows for easier cleaning and drying. Another benefit of wool on knitted back is the advantage of no rot or infestation of insects or rodent damage to the hide.

Our endurance saddles are made of either full grain leather or a product called porvair which is a heavy leather split with a breathable leather look vinyl overlay which allows for a waterproof surface and provides for a new look surface a lot longer than standard leather.

For comfort to both horse and rider our seats and skirts are lined with close cell foams. This sits under either a suede or leather seat.

To ensure strength and durability in the saddles we use nickel platted steel rigging rings in our lower to mid range price saddles and stainless steel in our show and higher price saddles. We leave this option of material entirely up to you the customer.

Our stirrups come from the same companies as our trees in most cases, and come either covered or uncovered. We cater for all sizes from kids to deep large roper styles. Most are lined with comfortable easy on the feet treads. However we do have aluminum stirrups if required.

Most saddles come with N.P.steel or S.S Dee's screwed into the front and back of the tree. We do not drill holes in our saddle for ties as this weakens the tree and forfeits the guarantee. However the dee's have  leather laces attached. Leather or metal concho's fit over the dee's.

Our standard girths are made of an anti chaff material, sweat resistant,or wool felt material 3" wide with standard 1 1/2" or 3" buckle and keepers to hold strap ends, plus double dee's in the centre for hobble strap and breastplate. We also have 4" roper and fleece girths available upon request. Our girth straps are either 1 1/2" leather billets, latigo straps or a combination of both. String girths are also available.

Colours .we have a choose of 8 colours,black,dark brown,mid brown,red brown,cherry red,tan,light tan & natural

All in all, great saddles that are designed to suit you and your horse for years to come.
